Duckies In The Tub Baby Shower Cake

For Melissa's baby shower, I made a cake that I've been dieing to try! It really turned out cute! These are duckies floating in a wash tub!

I made the water with piping gel, and it looked so real! Thank you Cake Boss!

Aliah's Littlest Pet Shop Party

For Aliah's littlest pet shop party, I made doggie cupcakes for her! They were so stinkin cute!

I had to take the yorkie home with me! I may just have to get a real one, one day!

And the birthday girl was very pleased! :)

Sweet Valentine's

Valentine's is one of my favorite holidays! So colorful, full of love, full of giving. I just love it!

This year I ventured out and made my very first real home made cupcakes! I chose to make red velvet with cream cheese frosting! It was the first time I ever tasted red velvet as well! They were pretty good, but I must admit I'm not a huge cream cheese frosting fan! But they looked awesome!

They looked really cute all wrapped up in their little boxes!

Jade did a really cute job coloring her valentines! She was so excited! She sat at the table for over an hour making valentine's for her friends and her teachers! I was so proud of her!

Addison had a lot of fun decorating a Valentine's gingerbread house to share with his friends!

We decorated mailboxes for our valentines, and Addison made an alligator mailbox at school!

Monsters vs. Aliens party

Jade is such a movie buff. She lives by movie lines! Shortly after Thanksgiving this past year she told me that she wanted a Monsters vs. Aliens party. I figured that it was sure to blow over and she'd choose something else. Oh let me tell you, she talked about her Monsters vs. Aliens party for weeks. Well, as I started planning the party, what I thought would be a boring party to plan just really started to get exciting. When it was all said and done, it was just perfect. Jade said over and over throughout the party, "This is my best birthday ever!!!!" She was so funny. She just loved it!

The goodie bags were too cute! We went with the movie theme, perfect for our Jadey!

I decided to make Jade a "Bob" monster shirt, which she totally loved!

She insisted that we make a pinata, so that was tons of fun doing together!

The cupcakes were fabulous! We had monster cupcakes and alien cupcakes!

She also requested that we make party hats! She is a natural party planner! So we made alien party hats.... Here she is blowing out her candles in her party hat!

We watched Bob's Big Birthday Break (a 15 minute Monsters vs. Aliens short film)... in 3-D! It was a hit for sure!!!

We ended the night with a relaxing time of playing with monster slime!

Even the mess left behind was beautiful!!!

Jade's 5th Birthday

Wow! I can't believe my baby girl is 5 years old! She has grown so much in the past year that it just all seems too quick! She has stollen my heart in such an amazing way this past year! It's like a beautiful butterfly has come from her cacoon! With her developmental delay, a year ago we really couldn't pin point a personallity in her at all. She was our quirky little girl! She has blossomed in a way that is truley beyond words!

We always bake cupcakes for friends at school on a birthday! Jade wanted to take brownies to her friends this year. So we had to be creative and bake brownies to look like cupcakes! They were really cute! And Jadey loved them! Fit for a princess!

And Jade loved them!!! (her friends too! from what I hear!)

Haiti on my heart

Between awake and asleep something crossed my mind the other night! I haven't been able to stop thinking about the people of Haiti and what each day must be like for them during this time. I can only imagine! But one thing that I keep coming back to is the fact that they have to rely on each other in a way they did not before. They are coming together to look for loved ones, shelter, food, and whatever they need to survive another day! I'm sure they are experiencing community like never before! Not to say that they didn't before, but in a time of crisis, I believe that people put their selfish agendas aside and really pull together! It really is a beautiful thing. What kind of bothers me is that this only tends to happen in the face of tragedy. Why not before then? Why wait for tragedy to rally together and have real COMMUNITY. You see that's supposed to happen at church. This is the central point where people are to come together during the week and celebrate community. As a body of believers, I began to think about how many people that attend our church are actually in the surrounding blocks. Not very many! Actually only about 3 or 4. Now I consider those that aren't in the surrounding blocks community as well, but why don't we have more involvement from those who are actually our community? It is time for an outreach! There has to be something we can do to reach those on our own doorstep! Everyone needs people in their life that love them, and are there for the duration, regardless of the circumstances. Are people open to this kind of fellowship? Are they open to God? Or does tragedy have to strike for a community to pull together?
